Um debz encouraged me to be critical considering this is for school and all.

okays - firstly great cohesion and flow between both pages is great, done through same background obv.

um - okay. firstly i think on the back cover that the story book look is a bit over done, like its not really all that fresh or original.

I don't reall think that the front cover's imagery maximises the space you have - which when wanting to promote and be eye-catching is something you need to do.

On the other hand i love the logo/title.

I'm wondering if the background/wood stuff detracts from your inmagery because thats what my eye is drawn to.

This is of course subject to debate and i hope that gave you something to consider.

Other than that its all pretty good.
